Graveside services for Elmo "Scooter" Cobb were Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thackerville. Officiating was Murray McMurray.
Born August 21, 1915, at Thackerville, Mr. Cobb died April 24, 1993, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta, at the age of 77. He was the son of the late Fred and Sarah Colvin Cobb.
A resident of Thackerville and Marietta all of his life, he was a retired employee of Swift Meat Packing Company where he worked for 18 years. He married the former Cordillie Morgan December 8, 1935, in Marietta. Mr. Cobb was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Tiny Cobb of the home in Marietta; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Baker, Eva Mae and Dude Powell, and Margaret and Eddie Sampson, all of Marietta; a sister, Bernice Wilson of Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.
