Services for Carl James Coble were at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Ardmore, with the Rev. LeRoy Holman officiating.
Born March 28,1930, at Eldorado, Mr. Coble died November 20, 1998, in an
Oklahoma City hospital. He was the son of Walter Emmitt and Vida Wright Coble.
Mr. Coble lived in southern Oklahoma all of his life and was a retired oil
field worker. He married Elizabeth Allen on May 16, 1953, at Ardmore. A
veteran, Mr. Coble had served in the United States Army during the Korean
Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion and attended the Maranatha
Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of the home in Ardmore; three sons, Tom Coble and
Richard Coble of Ardmore, and Ron Coble of Tulsa; a daughter, Carla Coble
Halstead of Tulsa; two brothers, Fletcher Coble of Marietta and Buddy Coble of
Sherman, Texas; two sisters, Iowa Denton of Beaumont, Texas, and Vida Peterman
of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Coble was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Walter Coble in 1985; and a sister, Elma Mapp in 1988.
Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were
Bo Hays, Doodle Hodges, Joe Davidson, Ivan Loyd, Bill Page, Jim Rudd and Bud
Green.
