Services for Claud E. Carlile of Leon were Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Leon
Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Williams officiating.
Born October 12, 1933, in Love County, Mr. Carlile died December 15, 1999, in
Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore, at the age of 66. He was the son of Paul
Leonard and Adina Ann Kemp Carlile.
Mr. Carlile had lived in Love County most of his life where he was a farmer and
a rancher. He also enjoyed fishing and working on projects around the farm. Mr.
Carlile married Oca Whitworth on November 15, 1979, in Ardmore. He was a member
of the Leon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Oca Carlile of the home at Leon; two sons and
a daughter-in-law, Leonard Carlile of Minnesota and Bill and Sue Kelley of
Burneyville; four daughters, Betty Morse of Leon, Darlene Fortier of
Massachusetts, Dian Martin of Okmulgee and Shannon Swanbeck of Dallas, Texas; a
brother, J.C. Carlile of Leon; a sister, Violet Enlow of Fort Worth, Texas; an
aunt, Essie Tapp of Wilson; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Mr. Carlile was preceded in death by a son, James Carlile; and a borther, W.P.
"Jack" Carlile.
Interment in the Leon Cemetery was under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Carlile, Pete Carlile, Alvie C. Reed, Curtis Carlile,
Don Reed and Carl Whitson.
