Services for Zachary George "Zack" Brannan, 24, of Oklahoma City were Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the First Christian
Church, Marietta, with Rev. David Colaw officiating.
Mr. Brannan was born April 25, 1974, at Fitchburg, Massachusetts, the son of Peter and Cindy Peay Wallace, and died
March 3, 1999, at his residence in Oklahoma City.
A resident of Oklahoma City for five years, Mr. Brannan had been a police officer with the Valley Brook Police Department
of Oklahoma City for the past four years. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1992 and served four years in the
Army Reserve. Mr. Brannan attained the Order of the Arrow as a Boy Scout and currently was a member of Explorer Scout
Post #501. He was a member of the Love County Search & Rescue Team and the Marietta Fire Department and attended
the First Christian Church of Marietta.
Survivors include his father by adoption, Rick Brannan of Marietta; his mother, Cindy Brannan of Denver, Colorado;
grandparents, Bill and Bette Brannan of Falconhead, Claude and Mildred Peay of Denver and George Wallace of Naples,
Florida; four sisters, Marcia Pierce, Sara Brannan and Cathy Brannan of Marietta, and Abby Brannan of Fort Worth, Texas;
two stepmothers, Julie Brannan of Marietta and JoAna Brannan of Fort Worth; and a stepsister, Anna Jackson of Oklahoma
City.
Mr. Brannan was preceded in death by his father, Peter Wallace; and his grandmother, Connie Wallace.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery directed by Kennedy Funeral Home. Pallbearers were an Honor Guard from the
Oklahoma City Sheriff's Department and the Oklahoma City Fire Department. Honorary bearers were Valley Brook Police
Officers, Tracey Smithwick, Randy Allen, Terry Minyard, Brian Orr, Michael Stamp, Jason Martin, John Henry and Brent
Fincher.
