Services for Ruth Hughes Blackburn were Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Anderson-Kennedy Chapel with Rev. Daniel Gaither officiating.
Born October 31, 1920, at Wapanucka, the daughter of Roy and Nora Mayo Brown, Mrs. Blackburn died April 24, 1995, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta, at the age of 74.
A resident of Love County for 40 years, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist belief. She married Lee Blackburn on December 18, 1992, at Gainesville, Texas.
Surviving are her husband, Lee Blackburn of the home in Marietta; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lige and Rhonda Hughes and Arthur and Dottie Hughes of Shawnee and Willie and Theresa Hughes of Ardmore; four daughters and sons-in-law, Ruby and Wilbur Cooper of Carter, Diathy and Winifred Arterberry of Mangum, Clarabell Brown and Albert Nettles of Marietta and Betty and Steve Holman of Shawnee; two brothers, Don Brown and Jerry Brown of Tishomingo; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Dan Hughes of Ardmore; 25 grandchildren adn five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Blackburn was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Hughes, on March 28, 1992.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Lige Hughes, Willie Hughes, Arthur Hughes, Michael Hughes, Otto Hughes and Jimmy Wallace.
