Graveside services for Ruth Brownlee of Abilene, Texas, were held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the De Leon Cemetery at De Leon, Texas, with the Rev. L.D. Mann of Glen Rose, Texas, officiating.
Born January 27, 1905, in Coryell, Texas, Mrs. Brownlee died February 26, 1991, in Abilene. She was the daughter of Anderson and Annie Brashear Galloway.
She and G.H. Brownlee were married in Comanche County in 1919, and moved from Fort Worth to Abilene in 1967. Mrs. Brownlee was a homemaker and member of the Baptist Church of Glen Rose.
Her survivors include eight daughters, Billie Whitlock of Granbury, Texas, Ann Duncan and Lenda Armstrong of Clyde, Texas, June Biggers of Fort Worth, Texas, Bonnie Miller of Marietta, Virginia Flint and Loyes Castleberry of Abilene, and Glenda Stasey of Glen Rose; four sons, Jack Brownlee of Eastland, Texas, Jeff Brownlee of Arlington, Texas, and J.M. (Sonny) Brownlee and Edward Brownlee of Fort Worth; a sister, Bessie Kimmell of Abilene; 24 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, Abilene. Serving as pallbearers were Steve Castleberry, Gary Tate, Jimmy Armstrong, Eddie Armstrong, James Dixon, Rickie Robbins, and Tony Brownlee.
