Services for Paul Henry Bucher were Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the Rubottom Baptist Church. Officiating was Rev. Henry Nist.
Mr. Bucher was born October 26, 1920, in Temple, Texas, and died April 4, 1991, at the Bayshore Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas, at the age of 70. He was the son of Paul Bliss and Minnie Emma McBride Bucher.
Mr. Bucher was raised in Love County and had made his home in Houston, Texas, for the past 20 years. A retired welder, he was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Bucher was a member of the Moose Lodge 20 years, the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers, and Helpers, AFL-CIO, CFL.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Daroleen Bucher of Marietta; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pauline Wingler of Bakersfield, California, Zirel and James Doughty of Ardmore, and Juanell and Red Garrett of Madill; two sisters, Mary and Martha Bucher of Rubottom; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bucher was preceded in death by a brother, David Bucher on November 6, 1987; and a grandson, Donald Bucher on April 28, 1986.
Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in the Rubottom Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Phil McMillan, Clayton Hallum, Ronald Hallum, Randall Colston, George Lowe, and Ovis Lowe.
