Services for Jerry Herbert Brehm, 48, of Enid were Friday, August 20, at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Enid. Officiating was Dr. Richard Dunn.
Mr. Brehm was born September 19, 1950, in Weatherford, the son of Herbert and Peoble (Amen) Brehm, and died August 17, 1999, at his home in Enid.
Mr. Brehm and the former Sharla Inman were married August 21, 1970. After graduating from Southwestern State University in 1974 with a B.S. degree in Accounting, the Brehms moved to Marietta where he was Business Administrator for the Marietta Hospital. The couple later moved to Enid where he opened his own public accounting firm, Brehm & Raymond, and practiced there for the next 17 years.
Mr. Brehm was a charter member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Enid and faithfully served as the Church Treasurer and Deacon since the church's founding in July 1998. He had previously served as Church Treasurer and Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Enid. His life priorities were God, Family, Church and Friends.
Mr. Brehm was currently serving as Chairman of the Affiliated Relations Committee of the National Society of Public Accountants, and he had previously served as Secretary /Treasurer for the Northwest Chapter of Public Accountants. He held several offices with the Oklahoma Society of Independent Public Accountants and was the 1994-95 Boss/Associate for the Red Carpet Chapter of American Business Women's Association. Mr. Brehm was named 1996 Accountant of the Year by ABWA. He was a member of the Enid A.M. Ambucs, Enid Jaycees, and the Enid Family YMCA. He was also on the Board for the Northwest Oklahoma Youth for Christ, an organization in Enid for boys and girls. Mr. Brehm was honored for his generous time and talent in coordinating the bringing of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall to Vance Air Force Base in 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Sharla Brehm of Enid; two daughters, Heather and Shaunna Brehm, also of Enid; a son, Jonathan Brehm of Tulsa; two grandchildren, Blade and Alanna; his father, Herbert Brehm of Weatherford; and a sister, Carolyn Dibler of Weatherford.
Mr. Brehm was preceded in death by his mother, Peoble Brehm.
Graveside services were Friday, August 20, at 3:00 p.m. in the Hydro Masonic Cemetery, Hydro, under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.
Memorials may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church Building Fund of Enid.
