Graveside services for Daryl Burkhart, 40, of Whitesboro, Texas, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 4, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville, with Johnny Reed officiating.

Mr. Burkhart was born December 23, 1962, in Gainesville, Texas, the son of James Daniel and Amelia Foster Burkhart. He died Thursday, January 2, 2003, at Gainesville Memorial Hospital.

He attended schools in Ardmore. Mr. Burkhart was employed by the Gulf Copper Company in Aransas Pass, Texas for several years, repairing naval vessels. He had resided in the Gainesville area for approximately three years.

Survivors include his mother, Amelia Burkhart of Whitesboro; a daughter, Natasha Burkhart of Thackerville; a son, James Dustin Burkhart of Thackerville; and two sisters, Laura Ann Ortega of Valley View, Texas, and Carolyn Lee Rodriguez of Overbrook.

Mr. Burkhart was preceded in death by his father, James Daniel Burkhart, on February 7, 1988.

Services were under the direction of George J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.
