Graveside services for Bradley Joe Blakley, 41, of Leon, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 24, in the Jimtown Cemetery, with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating.
Mr. Blakley was born February 7, 1962, in Ardmore, the son of Archie Allen and Virginia R. Hartman Blakley. He died Monday, July 21, 2003, at his residence.
Raised in Leon, he graduated from Turner High School in 1980 and joined the Marines. After military service he returned to Leon and worked for Clint Williams Peanut Company and for area farmers working cattle, cutting hay and raising peanuts. Mr. Blakley also worked as a carpenter's helper. He attended the Leon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his grandmother, Georgia Hartman of Leon.
Mr. Blakley was preceded in death by his father on August 22, 1993; his mother, April 22, 2003; and a brother, Brandy Allen Blakley on August 12, 2000.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
Services were under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson.
