Services for Alven L. Alexander, 46, of Wilson, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, at Rexroat Baptist Church, with the Rev. Monte Dean and Gary Scott officiating.
Mr. Alexander was born July 17, 1954, at Ardmore, the son of A. Lavoie and I. Aileene (Cannon) Alexander. He died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at his residence in Wilson.
A lifetime Wilson resident, Alven graduated from Wilson High School in 1973. Just out of high school he began his employment with Brady Welding & Machine in Healdton and worked for them until his illness prevented it in
October of 2000. He and Brenda J. Cartwright were married May 15, 1978,
in Rexroat.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda of the home; two daughters, Amanda and Emily of the home; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gwyneth and Mike Cogdill of Harrah and Sherry and Kenny Carlile of Burneyville; mother-in-law and
father-in-law, Janice and Bennie Cartwright of Wilson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Becky Cartwright of Wilson and Mike and Donna Sullivan of Noble; nieces and nephews, Monica Vance, Treves Cogdill and wife Michele, Mike Faught and wife Tiffany, Daniel Cartwright, Jacob Cartwright and Jessica Cartwright; and two special great-nieces, Megan Faught and Molly
Faught.
Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his mother, Aileene Alexander on August 12, 1985, and his father, Lavoie Alexander, on April 15, 1987.
Pallbearers were Wes Hacker, Jody Rich, Mike Faught, E.L. Loving, David Cannon and Terry Shaver. Honorary pallbearers were Bennie Cartwright, David
Cartwright, E.L. Cartwright, Jim Cannon, Mike Cogdill, Kenny Carlile, Treves
Cogdill, Mike Sullivan, Brady employees and the Rexroat Baptist Adult Men's
Sunday School Class.
Interment in the Hewitt Cemetery, Wilson, was under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson.
A memorial fund has been established at the American National Bank for the family of Mr. Alexander. Contributions may be made at any of the locations in Ardmore, Lone Grove, Comanche or Wilson, or mailed to ANB, P.O. Box 700,
Wilson, OK 73463.
