James Clayborn "J C" Chambers

J.C. Chambers, formerly of Oswalt, passed away at Frederick, Okla., Dec. 23, at the age of 77 years, 6 months, and 23 days. He had been in ill health for several years. 
 
Mr. Chambers came to Indian Territory in 1887 where he lived till 1929 at which time he moved to Gillman County. He was one of the real old timers of the Oswalt community.
 
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susie Chambers; seven sons, T.D., S.G. and J.S. Chambers of Love County; Edd Chambers, Corpus Christi, Texas; A.B. Chambers, Lawton, Okla.; O.J. Chambers, Frederick, Okla.; and J.A. Chambers, Ardmore, Okla.; and three daughters, Mrs. S. Ladner and Mrs. Lorena Williams of Love County and Mrs. J.E. Parrish of Norman, Okla., and thirty-five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, three brothers, W.L. Chambers of Duncan, Okla.; M.F. Chambers of Mississippi; K.D. Chambers of Alabama; two sisters, Mrs. T.R. Davis, Alabama; Mrs. N.B. Thomas, England, Arkansas.
 
Funeral services were held December 24 at Oswalt at 2:00 P.M. Brother Clyde Corner of the Church of Christ in Marietta was in charge.

Burial was in the Oswalt cemetery under the direction of the Burton Funeral Home.
