"Buddy" and Norma (McCage) Young. He died on Tuesday, February 18, 2025,

Charles was proud of his Choctaw heritage. He was born and grew up in
Thackerville on the land that was allotted to his Choctaw grandmother,

few months shy of 51 years prior to her passing on January 4, 2002.

seven years of marriage with Lufern. They lived in various southern
Oklahoma and northern Texas towns, eventually moving back to their roots
in Thackerville.
Charles had worked in operations with Union Texas Petroleum and as a
farmer and rancher. With Charles's expertise and wisdom came numerous
job titles and commitments. He served on the REA Board of Directors, was
a member of the AQHA, a Mt. Zion Cemetery Association volunteer, as well
as a member of the Thackerville Rodeo Committee and the Trail Riding
Club. He was a strong advocate for the Thackerville rodeo community and
several trail riding clubs.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Bill Young;
and mother-in-law, Jewell Bearden.
