Services for Kenneth Wolfe, 76, of Thackerville, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 12 in the Thackerville First Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Kinman officiating.

Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thackerville.

Born May 27, 1936 at Thackerville, the son of Jess Merl and Bessie Irene Sampson Wolfe, he died Friday, March 8, 2013 at his home in Thackerville. A resident of Love County and Thackerville most of his life, Mr. Wolfe was employed as a Texas Highway Patrolman, a detective for the Santa Fe Railroad, served as a U.S. Sky Marshal, was a supervisor in the Border Patrol and retired in 1996 as a U.S. Customs Agent. He and the former Sammie Kay Mansfield were married July 3, 1980 in Lewisville, Texas. Mr. Wolfe enjoyed traveling, NASCAR and horse races, and feeding wildlife in his backyard. However, one of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Judy B. Wolfe.

Survivors include his wife, Sammie Key Mansfield Wolfe of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Roy Wolfe of Henrietta, Texas and Chad Mansfield and Kristi Ethridge Mansfield of Thackerville; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie Sue Wolfe and Henry Allmand, also of Thackerville; a brother, Phillip Ray Wolfe of Gainesville, Texas; and six grandchildren, Nicole Allmand, Chance Allmand, Lauren Mansfield, Maverick Mansfield, Marshal Mansfield and Mayer Mansfield.

Pallbearers were Wesley Smith, Dean Pearman, Chuck Swoboda, Don Schultz, David Dedek and Tony Hollar. Honorary pallbearers were all of his grandchildren.
