The daughter of the late John Dalton and Juanita Lenora Pearson Ratliff, Glenda was born on June 11, 1938, in Healdton and passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at her Thackerville residence at the age of 85.
 
She and James G. "Chief" Wolfe met in Wichita Falls, Texas, and were married on August 2, 1957, in Chillicothe, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2008.

Gayle grew up in Healdton and was a 1956 graduate of Healdton High School. She retired as dietary supervisor with the Lake Country Manor in Marietta. Gayle was a member of the Thackerville First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James of 51 years of marriage; brother, Jimmy Ratliff; sister-in-law, Rada Ratliff; and brothers-in-law, Jim Walker, Val Gene Cantwell and Jim Culver.
 
Survivors include sons, Kevin Wolfe and wife Carol and Dirk Wolfe and wife Jill; daughter, Kay Wolfe; grandchildren, Justin Wolfe and wife Jennifer, Jessica Wolfe, Harley Wolfe, Zoe Wolfe and Devin Hagle, Jon Wolfe and wife Sierra, Dalton Wolfe, Summer Wolfe, Stevey Wolfe and Carleigh Tooley; great-grandchildren, Josiah Willingham, Isaiah Willingham, Wally Wolfe, Lucas Wolfe, Sophia Wolfe, Bodie Hunt, Kason Henson, Brenley Hunt, Hagen Hagle, Jaxson Hagle, Stetson Wolfe and Walker Wolfe; sisters, Dot Walker, Evelyn Cantwell and Sharon Culver; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
 
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10 at the Thackerville First Baptist Church with Deacon Robby Peyrot officiating.

Private inurnment will be at a later date at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thackerville.

Thackerville, OK — Services for James G. "Chief" Wolfe, 74, of Thackerville, Okla., will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, in First Baptist Church of Thackerville with Robby Peyrot officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thackerville, with the Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard participating. Arrangements are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Born Oct. 17, 1934, in Ada, Okla., the son of Wallace and Josie Perry Wolfe, Mr. Wolfe passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, in Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore, Okla.

A resident of Thackerville since 1972, Mr. Wolfe had previously made his home in Gainesville, Texas. Wolfe graduated from high school in Chillicothe, Texas, in 1954, and he and Gayle Ratliff were married in Chillicothe on Aug. 2, 1957. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Wolfe served in the U.S. Army from November 1954 to November 1956. He retired from National Supply Company in 1987 and then worked as a welder building fences and barns. Mr. Wolfe had been employed by the Chickasaw Nation as a water works operator since 1991. He had also worked as a Love County Deputy Sheriff and as a security officer for Touso Ishto. One of his hobbies was raising Boer goats. Mr. Wolfe enjoyed having his family around, especially his grandchildren, who were the highlight of his life. He attended the Thackerville First Baptist Church.

Mr. Wolfe was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, John Ratliff.

Survivors include his wife, Gayle Wolfe of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Carol Wolfe of Thackerville and Dirk and Jessica Wolfe of Lone Grove, Okla.; daughter, Kay Wolfe of Thackerville; eight grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Harley, Zoe, Brant, Dalton, Summer and Stevey; mother-in-law, Lenore Ratliff of Healdton, Okla.; three sisters-in-law, Dot Walker of Lone Grove, Evelyn Cantwell of Wilson, Okla., and Sharon Culver of Healdton; numerous nieces, nephews and friends, as well as several cousins.

Serving as bearers will be Tim Robertson, Jimbo Stinson, Leonard Oney, Denny Moore, Danny Jones and Kevin Morrow. Honorary bearers will include Ann Hammons, Kelli McMillan, Cindy Brannan, Rhedonna Ralls, Dr. Vergil Smith, Jeanie Voyles, John Gardner, Wesley Smith, Ron Parker, Frank Johnson, Junior Hutchins, Bill Taylor, Hopper Roberson and the Chillicothe Class of 1954.

Family visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. tonight at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 East Main St., Marietta, OK 73448.
