Steven Richard "Steve" Reeves

(permission granted)

Steve began this life on August 30, 1949 in Duncan, OK, the son of Floyd and Virgie (Beaver) Reeves.

He married Gail Morris on May 2, 1983 in Gainesville, TX. The two had celebrated more than 39 years together.

Steve was a very crafty man who could build just about anything. He loved tinkering around the house with different projects and was well known as “The Boss” of his garden. Steve never met a stranger and would go out of his way to make sure that both friends and family never needed for anything that he could provide.  Even though he had a very kind and caring heart, Steve was also known as quite the prankster and never missed an opportunity to throw a little aggravation in your direction. When Steve wasn’t working or in the garden, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his family. So many things brought him great joy in life, but perhaps the thing he loved most was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kimberly Reeves; and brother Dusty Reeves. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gail Reeves of the home; sons, Michael Reeves of Whitesboro, TX and Robin Robbennolt of Thackerville; daughters, Shannon Ing and husband Lonnie of Callisburg, TX, Leslie Reeves of Callisburg, and Amber Ashlock and husband Aubrey of Thackerville; brothers, Clint Reeves and wife Peggy of Houston, TX, Raymond Reeves and wife Carla of Alba, TX, Rocky Reeves of Mineola, TX, and Monty Reeves and wife Waunita of Marietta; sisters, Virginia McWain and husband Dennis of Dallas, TX, Rebecca Reeves of Quitman, TX, Mary Green of Kingston, OK, and Betty Williams of Callisburg; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers will be Michael Reeves, Robin Robbenolt, Steven Reeves, Bobby Reeves, Daulton Ing, and Payton Ing. Honorary bearers are Lonnie Ing and Clinton Reeves.

A keepsake video is available through the funeral home.
