Services for Jimmy Wayne Rains, 83, of Thackerville were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 15 in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta with Don Scivally and Max Cunningham officiating and Pastor Hunter Fountain assisting.

Interment followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thackerville.
 

Born April 25, 1938 at Addington Bend, the son of Millard Owen and Ruby Lee Boggs Rains, he went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at his residence.
 
Jimmy was a lifelong resident. He was a rancher, farmer, and worked at the Gainesville Foundry for 25+ years where he retired as foreman. Jimmy married the love of his life, Susan Yvonne Mitchell-Hamilton. Due to the 39 stripes Jesus took for our healing they were able to cherish 39 years and 363 days together. Jimmy served faithfully in the Ministry of Helps. He was always so good to other people. Jimmy served as a Deacon at his church and served in the Prison Ministry for several years, including Love County Jail. He served as the president of the Love County Farm Bureau Board for 30+ years. Jimmy greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Millard "Charles" Rains; father-in-law, Blair Mitchell; and brother-in-law, Paul Limerick.
 
Survivors include his wife, Susan Yvonne Rains of the home; sons, Donald Wayne Rains and wife Dana of Thackerville and Weldon Gene Rains and wife Donna of Gainesville, Texas; stepson, Travis J. Hamilton of Oakland, California; sister, Lennie Faye Rains-Sewell and husband Roy of Gainesville; mother-in-law, Anna Marie Bond of the home; grandchildren, David Rains and wife Shannon of Lubbock, Texas, Brandon Ferguson of Fort Worth, Texas, Ashley Knabe and husband John of Muenster, Texas, Jamie Perkins and husband Michael of Shady Side, Maryland, Caleb Rains and wife Kayla of Thackerville, Matthew Peelman and wife Andrea of Aransas Pass, Texas, and Kyra Boling and husband Waylon of Ranger, Texas; great-grandchildren, River and Reese Rains, Savanna Ferguson, Henry and Dax Knabe, and Memphis and Ella Rains.
 
Serving as pallbearers were Tre Balch, Brandon Ferguson, Caleb Rains, Ricky Rains, Richard Whittington, and Ronnie Whittington. Honorary bearers were Anna Marie Bond, Sam Barrick, John Paul Bergeron, Rick Chadwick, Jr. Gonzales, TRavis Hamilton, Kenneth Harper, John Knabe, David Rains, Vernon Scott, Wesley Smith, Gary Stephens, Mike Turner, Phillip Turner, and Chester "Skeet" Vaughn.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 "C" Street Northwest, Ardmore, OK 73401, a nonprofit hospice or a church of your choice.
