B.J. was born April 19, 1974 in Marietta, OK, the son of Bobby Darrell Liddell and Donna Lou (Welch) Cook. B.J. grew up in Thackerville and was a graduate from the Thackerville High School. After school, he moved to Texas where he worked for Barbara Uphan training quarter horses and then worked at the Cox Ranch as the Ranch Manager before returning to the area 11 years ago. B.J. was proud of his Chickasaw heritage. He was of the Christian faith and worked as a ranch manager and welder. He had two beautiful daughters, Carli and Maisie. His brightest joy was his granddaughter, Hadli who gave him his favorite nickname “Pop”. B.J. was an avid outdoorsman who loved roping, fishing, and deer or hog hunting.
B.J. is survived by daughters, Carli Miller and husband Lane of Ardmore and Maisie Liddell of Dickson, OK; mother, Donna Lou Cook of Fort Smith, AR; sisters, LaDonna Liddell of Marietta and Shawna Ayres and husband Robby of Gainesville, TX; brothers, Robert Liddell and wife Chasity of Thackerville and Aaron Ballinger of Portland, OR; and grandchild, Hadli.
B.J. was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Darrell Liddell and brother, Jackie Welch.
Services to celebrate the life of B.J. will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Thackerville Community Church with Bro. Murray McMurray officiating and Pastor Chris Mauldin assisting.
Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Marietta.
Honorary bearers are Robert Liddell, John Liddell, and Mark McCage.
Casket bearers are Randy Liddell, Chris McMahon, Bobby Wilson,
Richard Roper, Bull Shurbet, Rex Brown, Chad Rains, and Chris Jones.
