Aubrey Langston entered Heaven’s gates on January 19, 2013. She was born April 16, 1913 in Thackerville to Robert Edgar and Lilly Samantha Knight Crelia.

Aubrey graduated Valedictorian from Thackerville High School in May of 1932. Soon after, she met the love of her life who would become her husband of 53 years, Lucian “Troy” Langston. They were married July 2, 1938 in Waurika. Aubrey and Troy made their home in Thackerville where they raised their two children, Mike and Shirley. She took care of the home while Troy worked as a farmer and raised cattle. Aubrey had a love of the great outdoors, traveling with her husband to Colorado each summer. She was also a devoted fan of the San Antonio Spurs basketball team and the Denver Broncos football team. Aubrey was an avid reader, especially, the old western novels by Louis L’Amour. She loved a good game of dominoes. In addition, she loved to fish and any chance she could get, she’d grab her poles and head to the Red River. However, the most important part of her life was the Lord. She was a lifelong member of the Thackerville Methodist Church.

Aubrey was preceded in death by her husband, Troy; a brother, Lloyd Crelia; a sister, Thelma Mitchell; and a daughter, Shirley Pace.

She is survived by her son, Mike Langston and his wife, Alexandra of Adelaide, Australia; a granddaughter, Angie Morehead of Bryan, Texas; four grandsons, Rodney Langston of North Richland Hills, Texas, Lance Pace and his partner, Aimee of Lewisville, Texas, Troy Langston of Grand Junction, Colorado and Mark Langston and wife, Melodie of Franklin, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Jesse Langston, Jacob Langston, Sky Morehead and Chase Morehead; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will welcome friends Friday, January 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home located at 100 East Main in Marietta.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. the following morning at the Thackerville Methodist Church in Thackerville. Officiating will be Randy McFarland.

Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, the Thackerville, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rodney Langston, Troy Langston, Mark Langston, Lance Pace, Sky Morehead and Chase Morehead.

The family would like to thank the entire Staff of Lake Country Nursing Home for the impeccable care that has been given to her since she arrived in January 2009. You truly made her so very happy and part of a loving, caring family. Thank you!

The family also wishes to thank the entire Staff of Mercy Hospital Ardmore for the great care provided during Aubrey’s stay.
