Billy Jordan was born in Gainesville, TX on November 20, 1955, the son
of Pete and Ruby Whittington Jordan. He passed away Wednesday, September
18, 2013, in Oklahoma City at the age of 57.
Along with his family he
attended the Church of Christ where he was baptized at 13 years of age.
By the time he was 17, he was a licensed pilot. Billy attended Northern
Oklahoma College for two years. He worked for the cookie factory in
Marietta, drove a truck and was a printer. Before retiring, Billy was an
employee of American Airlines for 18 years. During that time he became a
world traveler . . . visiting four continents and countless countries.
He was a lead singer and a guitar player in a popular band in the 1970s
as well as a professional bull rider. Billy was a true Oklahoman . . .
loved back country roads, biscuits and gravy and the Red River area.
However, what brought him the most pride were his three children,
Willie, Charlie and Alyssa. He was an individual who never knew a
stranger.
Billy was preceded in death by his brother, Teel Jordan.
Survivors
include his parents, Pete and Ruby Jordan of Oklahoma City; two sons and
daughter-in-law, Willie and Chelsea Jordan and Charlie Jordan, all of
Oklahoma City; daughter Alyssa Jordan of Owasso, OK; four sisters and
brothers-in-law, Jane Butler, Bernita Stroud, Norita and Jim Farrell and
Brenda Kay and Rick Harris, all of Oklahoma City.
Serving as casket bearers will be nephews, Scott Tynes, Thomas Butler,
Tim Bennett, James Farrell, Jason Butler and Brandon Harris. Honorary
bearers are Shorty Whittington and Terry Wallis.
