Graveside services for William R. Jones will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thackerville, with Rev. David Whittington officiating.
Mr. Jones was born November 13, 1924, in Roodhouse, Illinois, the son of William Edward and Ida Marie Smith Jones, and died January 26, 1993, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta, at the age of 68.
Mr. Jones had lived in Thackerville since 1983, moving there from Burns Flat where he had lived for four years. A retired barber and farmer, he was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Jones married Margaret Newingham in Roodhouse on January 24, 1953.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Jones of the home at Thackerville; six sons, Ron Jones of Euless, Texas, Jack Jones of Elk City, William Jones of Eldred, Illinois, Paul Jones of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, James Jones of Thackerville, and Kerry Jones of the home; two daughters, Sharon Sampson of Thackerville and Anne Christie of Ft. Worth, Texas; two sisters, Eunice Powell of Roodhouse and Nancy Hazelwood of Illinois; two brothers, Delbert Jones of Roodhouse and Donald Jones of Patterson, Illinois; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, January 29, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Marietta.
Services are under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.
