On Monday, September 5, 2022, the world lost an adventurous outdoorsman, Bryan Wayne Gates at the young age of 41 while camping in Kentucky. Bryan's journey in life began on February 5, 1981, in Gainesville, TX, the son of James "Jim" Michael and Vicky sue (Bush) Gates.
 
Bryan lived most of his life in Gainesville. He married the love of his life Tyna Marie Atkinson on November 21, 2016, in Gainesville. He and Tyna have lived in Thackerville for the last five years.
 
Bryan prepped the products for painting at Phil-Co Industrial Painting. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Bryan was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, camping, and sitting by the campfire. Bryan was a hardworking family man who had a big heart. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
 
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tyna Gates of the home; son, Briley Gates of the home; daughter, Valerie Gates of Ardmore, OK; bonus children, Brian and Nikki-Mouse Atkinson of Thackerville, Samantha Hale of Ardmore and CJ Hale of Ohio; grandchildren, Bayleigh, Addisyn, Mason, and Nicklous; parents, Jim and Vicky Gates of Sadler, TX; brother, Steven Gates and wife Brittany of Gainesville; sisters, Susan Gibson and husband Ricky and Beth Cook and husband Jared all of Gainesville; grandmother, Lois Singleton of Gainesville; nephews, Sebastian Gibson, Caden Cook, Rhett Cook, Jacob Gates, and Shaun Gates; niece, Summer Gibson; dogs, Whiskey Girl and Taz Boy; and many aunts, uncles, and lots of cousins.
 
Bryan was preceded in death by his bonus son, Justin Joiner.
 
Casket bearers are Briley Gates, Steven Gates, Jared Cook, Ricky Gibson, Joe Brumfield, and Craig Bachman.
 
Services for Bryan will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Hollis Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville.

Visitation will be Monday, September 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
