Rita Laraine Foster of Madill, OK, was born on September 27, 1944, in
Gainesville, TX, to George Washington and Jean (Gatlin) Mills. She passed from
this life in Madill on Saturday, May 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her
family.
Rita celebrated her longtime relationship with Lonnie Murrell “Bidder” Foster,
who preceded her in death on November 28, 2001. She was a devoted wife, mother,
and grandmother who cherished her family deeply.
Rita enjoyed a simple and meaningful life. She loved to read, work puzzles,
cook, and spend time with those she loved. She was especially fond of watching
Western movies and was known as a God-fearing woman whose faith guided her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her grandson, James
Cummins; her brother, William Mills; and her niece, Melinda Mills.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, David Cave of Texas; her
daughters, Tina Putnam and husband Gary of Thackerville, OK, and Dana Frazier of
Heavener, OK; grandchildren, Jerimiah Cummins and wife Destinie of Ringling, OK,
Jesse Jay Hickman and wife Courtney of Marietta, OK, Lacey Hickman of Marietta,
Michael Dewbre of Wilburton, OK, David Dewbre of Heavener, Natasha Dewbre of
Tulsa, OK, and Tiffany Cave of Nacogdoches, TX; along with 13
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Additional survivors include
her sister, Sandy Ellis of Thackerville, as well as four nieces and many
extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7th, at
Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lawrence Anderson officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville.
A time of visitation
will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The
family will be wearing red on Thursday in honor of Rita’s favorite color.
Serving as casket bearers will be Cody Clark, Jaymason Reeves, Bert Tickel, Jake
Barber, Michael Cummins, and Aaron Cummins. Honorary casket bearers will be Gary
Hubbard and Randy Liddell.
