Graveside services for Rufus E. Dunham, formerly of Thackerville, were Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Officiating was Mr. Murray McMurray.
Mr. Dunham was born January 28, 1908, in Straw, Texas, the son of Jim and Grace Lynn Dunham, and died November 25, 1992, in the Mission Hill Hospital, Shawnee.
Mr. Dunham had made his home in Thackerville from 1972 to 1981, moving thee from West Texas. He had been a resident of Tecumseh since 1981. A retired farmer, he had also worked in cotton gins for 26 years. Mr. Dunham married Lettie Trammell November 15, 1928, in Aspermont, Texas. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include four sons, Jim Dunham of Thackerville, Jack Dunham of Tuscola, Texas, Bobby Dunham of Stanford, Texas, and Joe Dunham of Agua Dulce, Texas; three daughters, Grace McCarley of Tecumseh, and Brenda Tidwell and Nola Smith of Texas City, Texas; two sisters, Myrtle Martell of Fresno, California, and Mary Ann Walker of Terrell, Texas; 33 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Dunham was preceded in death by his wife on March 23, 1981; and two daughters, Frankie Burkett and Lydia Mae Welch.
Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.
