Trina Louise Burkhart, 76-year-old Shady Dale, OK resident, went to be
with Jesus on Friday, February 14, 2025, while surrounded by her loving
family.
Per her request, Trina was buried next to her family members in
the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville, OK during a private ceremony.
A
memorial service will be scheduled for family and friends at a later
date. Services have been entrusted to the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home,
Marietta, OK.
Trina began this life on July 13, 1948, the daughter of John and Mary
(Nachtigall) Engler. On March 20, 1970, she married Eunice Vonder "Pete"
Burkhart in Stephenville, TX. On the first day of spring this year, they
would have been married 55 years.
While in Stephenville, Trina attended two semesters at Tarleton State
while working as an operator for Bell Telephone. She would later start
nursing school in Waco, TX and then transitioned to work as a dental
assistant and then a teacher's aide at Heritage Christian School. Trina
also worked for 5 years in the Marietta School cafeteria.
When Trina wasn't working, she loved taking trips with Pete to the beach
at Port Aransas, TX. She also enjoyed their trips to the Texas hill
country to see the Blue Bonnets in full bloom. However, nothing was more
important to Trina than spending time with her family.
Trina was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her
memory are her husband, Pete of the home; son, Dustin Neil Burkhart of
Ardmore, OK; daughter, Tina Dawnele Burkhart of Shady Dale; sisters,
Johnnye Faye Engler of Stephenville, Sharon Ann McNutt and husband Gary
of Dublin, TX; sister-in-law, Diana Shellenberger of Stephenville; and
brother-in-law, Shelton Burkhart of Shady Dale.
