Graveside services for Amelia Carolyn Burkhart, 76, of Valley View, Texas were held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 29 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thackerville.

Amelia was born September 23, 1938 in Thackerville to W.H. and Carrie Ethyl Bratcher Foster. She died Thursday, December 25, 2014 in Valley View. Amelia enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo and reading, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Laura Ortega and husband Bob of Valley View and Carolyn Rodriguez and husband Mike of Overbrook; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Jean Gilbreath of Gainesville, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.D. Burkhart; son, Daryl Burkhart and a sister, Gwen Stover.
