Graveside services for Ola Brown were conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thackerville. Officiating was Bro. Murray McMurray.
Born March 18, 1905, at Walnut Bend, Texas, Mrs. Brown died March 12, 1993, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta, at the age of 87.
She was the daughter of James and Lou Ella Stanford Walt. A resident of Thackerville most of her life, Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church at Thackerville and of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Orvil Brown of Marietta; a daughter, Modena Coulter of Thackerville; three brothers, Jess Walt and Ralph Walt of California, and Raymond Walt of Bells, Texas; three sisters, Nobie Gould, Ella Mae Pollard, and Mary Jo Davidson, all of California; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, H.P. (Judge) Brown on June 29, 1968, and a son, John Kenneth Brown in 1976.
Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.
