Memorial services for Charles Glenn (Glenn) Morgan, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30 at Morgan Rest Cemetery.
Born January 10, 1938 at Simon, the son of W.B. (Jimmy) and Mary Loving Morgan, he died Monday, March 11, 2019 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Glenn was raised at Simon, attending school there for eight years. He attended high school at Meadowbrook, where he played basketball and baseball. He was also active in FFA. He graduated from Meadowbrook in 1956. After high school Glenn served in the National Guard, receiving his training at Fort Leonard Wood. He and Paula Stevenson, his wife of 60 years, were married in Wichita Falls, Texas on June 22, 1958. Glenn worked for Safeway for 30 years, managing several stores in Wichita Falls and Fort Worth. After this, he worked for Paxton Wood lumber company, managing their four hardwood stores in the DFW area.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Jessie McGill, Jean Morgan, Polly Colburn, and Mary Ellen Johnston.
Survivors include his wife, Paula of the home; sisters, Winnie Hood of Fort Worth, Jo Ella Thompson of Falconhead, Jill Anderson and husband Robert of Hurst, Texas; and brother, Finley Morgan and wife Sharon of Simon; as well as several nieces and nephews.
