Services for Billy Jack Morgan, 78, of Ardmore were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 17, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brad Taylor officiating. Interment followed at Morgan’s Rest Cemetery in Simon.
Born September 9, 1931 at Simon, the son of Alexander Lakes Morgan, Sr. And Mable Lavada Henry Morgan, he died Monday, March 15, 2010 at Ardmore.
Jack was raised in Simon, attending school there and at Orr, and graduated from Meadowbrook High School. He and the former Barbara Ruth Webb were united in marriage May 25, 1951 at Marietta. Jack was employed with Oklahoma Natural Gas in Ardmore for 40 years, retiring in 1993. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner, belonging to both organizations for 50 years. He enjoyed fishing and his grandchildren and loved attending their various sporting events. He was a member of the Southwest Baptist Church of Ardmore.
Preceding him in death were his parents; six sisters, Tommie, Eunice, Dinker, Lucy, Linis and Grace and four brothers, Cloy, Erskin, Jimmy and A.L., Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara of the home in Ardmore; two daughters, Teresa Morgan of Gene Autry and Angela Cox and husband, Don of Springer; three sons, Ronnie Morgan and wife, Reita and Gary Morgan and wife, Amie, all of Ardmore and Steve Morgan of Lone Grove; nine grandchildren, Jonna Land and husband, Mike of Duncan, Melanie Wickware of Gene Autry, Ashley Carranza and husband, Eric, and Zac Cox, all of Springer, Bucky Morgan, Casey Morgan, Derek Morgan and wife, Brittany, Stefani Sanderson and Kati Morgan, all of Ardmore; nine great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Josh and Lukas Land of Duncan, Noah and Madison Wickware of Gene Autry, Gracie Morgan of Purcell, Baylor Morgan, D.J. Haskins and Cooper Sanderson, all of Ardmore; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
Pallbearers were Zac Cox, Bucky Morgan, Derek Morgan, Casey Morgan, Mike Land, Eric Carranza and DaJon Haskins. Honorary bearers were Clifford Brawley, Jim Ragland, Larry Gay, Eddie Pittman, Bill Barfield and Carroll Satterwhite.
This obituary included a picture of Mr. Morgan.
