Carolyn Faye Morgan Martin, 76, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in South Carolina from complications of surgery after a short battle with cancer.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 7 at Morgan Rest Cemetery south of Wilson with Finley Morgan officiating.


Carolyn was born March 17, 1945 at Simon Creek where she lived until she moved to Groesbeck, Texas. She married Eddie Troy Martin in March of 1967. Carolyn worked most of her life in a financial position. She was an enrolled agent with the IRS before moving into city government where she retired as the City Manager of Mexia, Texas. Her hobbies included crocheting and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie Troy Martin; brothers, Rogers M. Morgan and Jerry Dwain Morgan; and sister, Brenda Smith.
 
Survivors include her daughter, Angie Conn and husband Lee of La Porte, Texas; sister, Patricia Hall and husband Calvin of Maysville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Katherine Morgan of Simon; three granddaughters, Amber Maddox and husband Grady of Robinson, Texas, Ashley Murphey of Mexia, and Kara Haynie and husband Thomas of Knoxville, Tennessee; six great-grandchildren, Morgan Maddox, Aidyn Anderson, JJ Wells, Alexia Wells, JD Haynie and Liam Haynie; and numerous other family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers were James Caldwell, Ricky Morgan, Mike Morgan, Ernest Morgan, Grady Maddox, and Dale Shaw.
