Johnny Lee Stofel May 17, 1941 - Feb 20, 2026

Johnny Lee Stofel, of Durant, OK, was born May 17, 1941, in Leon, OK, to Elmore
Kenneth and Georgia (Brewer) Stofel. He passed away at his residence on Friday,
February 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 84.
Johnny was valedictorian of the Leon High School Class of 1959. He later joined
the Oklahoma National Guard and had worked a lengthy career as a lineman with
REA in Marietta.
On June 10, 1978, he married the former Patricia Irene Adams in Marietta.He enjoyed collecting antiques, raising exotic animals, and working with the
local FFA, where he also judged livestock. Johnny never met a stranger and loved
spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His happy place was
in the mountains of Colorado, enjoying nature or anywhere he could be outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey Stofel; five brothers,
Charles, Clint, Jimmy, Kenneth, and Mack Stofel; and one sister, Ann Flatt.
Those left to remember Johnny are his wife, Patricia, of the home; a son,
Christopher Stofel of Oklahoma City, OK; a daughter, Karen Green and husband
David of Durant, OK; three grandchildren, Daylan Green and wife Tori, Kaley
Lehew and husband Josh, and Brayden Green and wife Kylie, all of Durant; three
great-grandchildren, Sloane, Pyper, and Arlo Green; two brothers, Eddie Stofel
of Drumright, OK, and Wes Stofel and wife Teresa of Marietta, OK; two sisters,
Reba Taylor of Ringling, OK, and Mary Stonebarger and husband Jess of Howe, TX;
and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the
Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 100 East Main Street,
Marietta.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25,
2026, at the Leon Cemetery with Bro. Brett Alberda officiating.
