Services for Elva Marie Mapp St. Clair, 92, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 26 at the Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ, Ardmore, with Dr. Virgil Trout officiating.

Interment was at the Leon Cemetery.

Born June 24, 1916 in Leon, the daughter of Robert M. and Mattie Alice Clark Blue, she died May 21, 2009 in Ardmore.

After graduating from Leon High School, she attended Southeastern University in Durant and then taught school at Leon. She and her mother, Mattie were instrumental in organizing Leon’s Church of Christ. Mrs. St. Clair worked for the Ardmore Police Department as Manager of Records for 25 years. She retired in 1982 when she married Junius “June” St. Clair at a private residence at Falconhead. Mrs. St. Clair enjoyed a simple life such as cooking, dancing, sewing, quilting, and being with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Bennie Barrow of Fort Worth, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Christina St. Clair of Ardmore; grandchildren, Gayla Hart, Cynthia Moore, Susie Reinauer, Dena Musgraves, Bill Barrow, Michelle Derebeew, Brent Barrow, Donald Gene St. Clair and Nicholas St. Clair; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Beeler Blue, Leonard Carrothers, Claude Carrothers, Berniece Townsend and Audrey Washington.

Pallbearers were Harold Butler, Bill Ellis, John Gibbs, Jim Thornton and Jim Woodson. Honorary pallbearers were former students of the Leon Public School.
