Mrs. Russell was born November 24, 1927, in Lubbock, Texas, the daughter of A.B. and Maude Estelle Kitchens Collins. She died Monday, September 23, 2002, in Mercy Health-Love County, Marietta.

She was raised in Love County and returned here 13 years ago to make her home. She and George Quenton Russell were married December 20, 1947, in Gainesville, Texas. Mrs. Russell attended school at Burneyville where she played basketball. She worked as a proofreader for Taylor Publishing Company. Mrs. Russell was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Quenton Russell of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Euel Allen and Jessie Russell of Thackerville and Randell Quenton and Mary Russell of Jacksonville, Florida; two  brothers, Vernon Bone of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Jim Bone of Bomar; a sister, Edith Harris of Lubbock; three stepbrothers; a stepsister; four grandchildren, Shelly Lattimer, Jennifer Adair, Christopher Russell and Kevin Russell; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron Lattimer and Ophelia Adair.

Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Faye Collins, Cecil Collins and Euel Bone; and a sister, Tess Smith.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Russell, Johnny Bone, Allen Russell, Ray Russell, James Barnes and Danny Coley. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Russell, Steve Russell, David Russell and Charles Barnes.

Interment will be in the Leon Cemetery under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
