Services for Perry Ellis Norvell were conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Leon Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Sconce, officiating.

Mr. Norvell was born July 30, 1923, at Burkburnett, Texas, the son of Danel and Annie Hice Norvell, and died December 8, 1995, near Jacksboro, Texas, at the age of 72.

He had lived in Leon since 1972, moving there from Texas. Mr. Norvell was a truck driver and a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He married Geneva Edwards at Gainesville, Texas, on April 18, 1972. Mr. Norvel was a member of the Leon Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Geneva Norvell of the home at Leon; two sons, Donny Norvell of New Jersey and Johnny Ray Norvell of Marietta; two daughters, Alice Moore and Velda Dorsey of California; two step-sons, Wesley Glenn of Marietta and Mark Glenn of Midland, Texas; two step-daughters, Deborah Brintle of Plains, Texas, and Sheila Glenn of Littlefield, Texas; three brothers, Cuin Norvell of Robert Lee, Texas, Houston Norvell of Mayhill, New Mexico, and Johnny Norvell of Andrews, Texas; four sisters, Lela Holland of Mountainair, New Mexico, Molly Neel of Dallas, Texas, Betty Singleton of Magnolia, Texas, and Coleen Norvell of Houston, Texas; 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were directed by the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in the Leon Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles McAnally, Wesley Glenn, Bo Gilbert, Kenneth Gilbert, Butch Norvell and Keith Norvell.
