Interment was in the
Leon Cemetery, Leon.
Born April 4, 1917 at Burneyville, the son of George and Clarissia Blue
McBride, he died Monday, September 10, 2007, in Mercy Health Love County
Hospital, Marietta.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita McBride of the home; two grandsons,
Larry McBride of Marietta and Scott McBride of Aubrey, Texas; five
great-grandchildren, Lacrisha Demattie, Matthew Coleman, Egan McBride,
Asheton McBride and Peyton McBride; two great-great-granddaughters,
Mackenzie Demattie and Aubrey Demattie; a daughter-in-law, Sue Landrum
of Marietta; special friends, Bud and Ada Bess Hill of Marietta; and all
of his domino buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry L. “Tuffy” McBride
on November 20, 2002; a sister, Florence Smith on August 23, 2002; and a
granddaughter, Tammy Annette McBride in February 1993.
Pallbearers were Larry McBride, Scott McBride, Egan McBride, John
McBride, Archelowe Terrill, Joe Davis and Bud Hill. Honorary pallbearers
were his domino buddies, the men of the Church of Christ, Dr. Tom
O’Connor and Dr. Vergil Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marietta Church of Christ
Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
