Interment was in the Leon
Cemetery, Leon.
Born April 20, 1928 at Leon, the daughter of William Marion “Bill” and
Lillie Hyman Buckhanon, she died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in Mercy
Health Love County Hospital, Marietta.
Survivors include four sons, Kenneth Gilbert of Healdton, Johnny M.
Gilbert and Ricky Gilbert of Ardmore, and Jimmy Gilbert of Leon; four
daughters, Carolyn Gwin of Tulsa, Debra Key of Overbrook, Janice
Cantrell of Gainesville, Texas, and Cathy Dalton of Pauls Valley; nine
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Thurman
Gilbert, Glen Gilbert and Carol Gilbert; a brother, Calvin Buckhanon;
and a granddaughter, Stephanie Gwin.
Pallbearers were Glen Gilbert, Jason Abshire, Johnny Abshire, Steven
Sparks, Alec Gilbert and Clayton Bratcher. Honorary pallbearers were Dr.
Tom O’Connor, Dr. Vergil Smith, Brock Thomas, Danny Childers, Keith
Childers, Joe Russell and Fred Ross.
