Interment followed in the Lakeview
Cemetery.
Born December 23, 1926 in Groom, Texas, the son of Erb and Bertie
Strickland White, he died Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Mercy Health
Love County, Marietta.
In addition to his first wife, Mr. White was preceded in
death by his parents; two sons, Robert White on September 18, 1992
and Keith White on May 29, 1994; a daughter, Sherry Hallum on June
8, 2010; and four brothers, Joe White, Tommy White, Dwight White and
Max White.
He is survived by his wife, June White of the home; a daughter and
son-in-law, Carol and Lawrence Jones of Dimmitt, Texas; a
son-in-law, Keith Hallum of Marietta; a sister, Ouida Hargrove of
Sweetwater, Texas; six grandchildren, Laura Randal, Tommy White,
Steve Ingram, Robyn Pye, Dillon Lawson and Melany Buckhanon; nine
great-grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Kayla, Abby, Jake, Zach, Page,
Shani and Devyn; two great-great-grandchildren, Reese and Gage; and
stepchildren, Ben and Dee Carroll of Granbury, Texas, Len Carroll of
Marietta and Gwen and Billy Carter of Denton, Texas.
Pallbearers were Ben Carroll, Len Carroll, Keith Hallum, Lawrence
Jones, Steve Ingram and Dillon Lawson. Honorary bearers were Dr. Tom
O’Connor, Dr. Stephen Hutchins, John Haas, Bobby Reed, Jr., Jim Bob
Campbell, Bill Hill, Lewis Foster and Ed Damron.
