Interment followed in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.
Sue was born March 10, 1930 in Cement, the daughter of Henry and Dora
Norris. She attended school, first through 12th grades, in
Marietta where she enjoyed playing basketball with her twin sister, Ann.
After graduating from high school she married and three children were
born to that marriage. Sue enjoyed bowling, playing golf, reading,
sewing, and working in her yard, especially planting roses. She also
loved to dance (wearing her red boots), listen to country music, and
visit and drink coffee with family and friends. The main thing Sue loved
most in life was her family.
The family owned and operated Lone Star Cleaners in Gainesville, Texas
until they moved to Alpine, Texas in 1967. There they owned and operated
the Alpine Model Shop Clothing Store for many years where Sue did
alterations. Sue also lived in Odessa, Texas where she worked in the
office supply business. In 1991 she retired to Baytown, Texas to live
with her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Harwell and Larry Jackson, and
to be closer to some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Dora Norris; two
sons, Alan Stone and Steve Stone; three grandchildren, Tawnya Harwell,
Matt Harwell and Scott Stone; a sister, Ann Thacker and three brother,
Alfred Norris, Pee Wee Norris and Hoot Norris.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Harwell and Larry
Jackson of Crosby; five grandchildren, Chris Harwell and wife Beth of
Daisetta, Texas, Gus Stone of Topeka, Kansas and Brandi Stone, Roxanne
Stone and Chad Stone, all of Midland, Texas; great-grandchildren, Dustin
Harwell of Crosby, Matthew Harwell of Daisetta and Blake McCord, Skylar
Stone, Taryn Luckey and Kaden Stone, all of Midland and several nieces
and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were Larry Jackson, Chris Harwell, Dustin
Harwell, Blake McCord, Chad Stone and Alan Parrish.
