Services for Deward Sharp, 81, of Plano, Texas were held on Saturday, December 15 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, Allen, Texas.

A graveside service followed at Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.

Born February 17, 1937 at Marietta, the son of Virgil and Willie Lewis Sharp, he died Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Deward grew up in Love County where he graduated valedictorian from Meadowbrook High School and played on the basketball team. He married the love of his life, Mary Josphine Freeman on June 14, 1955 in Marietta. Deward worked the majority of his life in sales in the food and grocery business retiring from Schepps Dairy. He enjoyed woodworking and his favorite place was his shop. Deward loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He was a member of West Allen’s Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; brother, Floyd Sharp; and sisters, Marie Kays, Doris Fomby and Velma Hunter.

Survivors include his daughters, Angie Goode and husband Ken of Plano and Elizabeth Vinson and husband Scott of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Rachel Brewer and husband Todd, Sarah Wilson and husband Mark, Matthew Vinson and wife Susan, Hannah Webster ad husband Dillon, Ruth Day and husband Chris, and Jordan Goode and wife Jacoby; great-grandchildren, Erik, Isaac, Asher, Nathan, Heidi, Levi, Lydia Mary and Samantha Josephine; and numerous other loving family and friends.
