Graveside services for Terry Sampson, 65, of Denton, Texas, formerly of Thackerville, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 13 in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, with Reverend Carl Parson officiating.

Born September 13, 1952 at Oklahoma City, the daughter of Virgil “O.C.” and Lois Ann Sapp Sampson, she died Monday, September 10, 2018 at her residence. A graduate of Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City, Terry had been a resident of Thackerville for many years before moving to Denton to live with her daughter. While at Thackerville she was very active in the Thackerville Baptist Church, oved reading the Bible and also watching services on television. Terry enjoyed going shopping, getting pedicures, gardening, and doing things for others in her free time, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Danielle Nunez and husband Ruben of Denton and Kibi Vallejo and husband Juan of Grandfield; three sons, Christopher Mayfield and Anthony Woods of Marietta, and Eric Jarvis and wife Stephanie of Sterling; brother, Danny Sampson of Stratford; sister, Sherry Lawrence and husband Pete; nine grandchildren, Lindsey Rains, Jamie Wood, Michael Wood, Emilio Nunez, Brittnie Glapion, Tinley Wardeski, Kaeli Vallejo, Riley Vallejo, and Trystin Jarvis; and five great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Chris Mayfield, Ruben Nunez, Anthony Wood, Jamie Wood, Michael Wood, and Emilio Nunez. Honorary bearers were Eric Jarvis and Landon Rains.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Terry’s name to the Thackerville Baptist Church.
