Mrs. Meek was born July 25, 1906, at Olney, Texas, the daughter of Wiley and Emma Smallwood. She died Tuesday, December 30, 2003, in Southbrook Healthcare facility in Ardmore.
Survivors include one grandson, Billy Gene King, Jr. of Paragould,
Arkansas; two granddaughters, Mary Louise King of Oklahoma City and
Betty Jean King Walker of Woodward; one sister-in-law, Helen Patton
Smallwood of Del City; one great-nephew, Dr. Danny Ray Cox of
Celina, Texas; five nieces, Charlene Cobb Cox Audas of Pottsboro,
Texas, Nita Smallwood Hukle of Wichita, Kansas, Sharon Smallwood
Pollard of Grand Prairie, Texas, Mary Smallwood Haslett of Oklahoma
City, Maggie Ruth Clifton Alexander of Ardmore, and their families;
and numerous other nieces and nephews and their families on the Meek
side.
Mrs. Meek was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Eber on
September 12, 1979; a daughter, Joyce Louise Meek King on December
16, 1998; a sister, Ethel Smallwood Cobb (Mrs. Otis Cobb) on January
20, 1990; and two brothers, Lacey Herbert Smallwood on March 26,
1999, and Vivian Lee Smallwood on August 20, 1944.
Services were under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home,
Ardmore.
