On Sunday, December 25, 2022, Billy Fred McKay, 62, passed
away in Dallas, TX surrounded by his family. His was born in
Ardmore, OK on June 14, 1960, the fourth of six children born to
Fred Emerson and Billie Jo (Harris) McKay.
Billy attended schools in Turner and Thackerville where he
graduated in 1978. He was a longtime resident of Love County,
OK., except for a brief period he spent in Dallas. Billy worked
in the oil fields, the Marietta Cookie Factory, construction,
and production management at Siemens. Approximately 20 years
ago, he started focusing on his mom and dad and helped them
manage their farming operations. Billy enjoyed golfing,
collecting t-shirts, car racing, traveling, picture taking,
talking on the phone, and driving around southern Oklahoma
visiting family and friends. He was a very social person who
loved to aggravate and play jokes on others. Billy loved
spending time with his family and if he ever met you, he never
forgot you.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Linda
Bollinger of Marietta, OK, Barbara Harrison of Marietta, Kathy
Simpler and husband Steve of Ardmore, Kelly Chambers and husband
Jerry of Marietta, and Steve McKay and wife Jerlyn of Ardmore;
his special aunt, Betty Faye Anderson of Oklahoma City, OK; and
a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29,
2022, at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta with
Bro. Murray McMurray officiating and Lawrence Anderson
assisting. Interment will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery in
Marietta. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m. at the funeral home.
Casket bearers are Matt Miller, Tyson Miller, Ben McKay,
Chris McKay, Chad Bollinger, Jennifer Willamson, and Willis
McKay. Honorary bearers are Charles McKay, John Spence, Rick
McMillin, Ben Lawson, Lester Butler, Jimmy Don Long, and his
support team and telephone buddies.
