Gwendolyn Marlene Hart,
83-year-old Plano, TX and former Marietta, OK resident, passed
away Monday, January 30, 2023 in the Baylor, Scott & White Heart
Hospital in Plano.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.,
Monday, February 6, 2023, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home
Chapel with Pastor Brett Alberda officiating. Following the
service, Gwendolyn will be laid to rest beside her husband in
the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta.
Visitation will be held from
10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Monday, February 6, at the funeral
home.
Gwendolyn began this life October
17, 1939, in Thackerville, OK the daughter of William M. and
Camilla (Adams) Jones. She grew up and attended school in
Thackerville. On October 12, 1968, Gwendolyn married James
Wesley Hart, Jr. in Gainesville, TX. The two enjoyed almost 51
years together before he passed away in October of 2019.
Gwendolyn worked as a food service
manager for Lewis Contracting for several years until her
retirement. Over the years, she was known to enjoy embroidery,
crochet, sewing, working puzzles, and playing games like
solitaire and Mahjong on her iPad. Gwendolyn also loved playing
board games with her grandchildren. Card games were her
favorite. She loved to travel, shop, and spend time with her
family. Gwendolyn also cherished daily conversations on the
telephone with her sisters Edith Farr and Billie Russell.
Gwendolyn was preceded in death by
her parents; by her husband; by a son, Michael Hart; by two
daughters, Sharon Tomplait and Janet Hart; a brother, Willie
Jones; and two sisters, Orenia (Jones) Smith and Desey (Jones)
Bloomer. Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Marlene
Colby of Henrietta, TX, Jessica Moss and husband Paul of Plano,
TX; grandsons Wesley Hart and James Moss; granddaughters,
Chasity Hofbauer and husband Jake of Bowie, TX, Amanda Hart, and
Jolie Moss; 16 great-grandchildren, including Jackson, Owen, and
Adam Hofbauer; and sisters, Edith Farr and Billie Russell.
Casket bearers are Paul Moss,
Wesley Hart, James Moss, Jakson Hofbauer, Owen Hofbauer, and
Adam Hofbauer. Honorary bearer is Jake Hofbauer.
