Services for James Woodrow Fielder, 76, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Bennie Mathews, pastor of the First United Methodist Church.Born November 27, 1914, at Pottsboro, Texas, Mr. Fielder died September 12, 1991, in the Love County Health Center in Marietta. He was the son of J.T. And Dovie Sinclair Fielder.Mr. Fielder farmed in Marshall County until 1964, and then worked for the Civil Service, retiring after 14 years of service. He married the former Elsie Mary Fricke on December 19, 1935, in Marietta. They had made their home in Marietta since 1974. Mr. Fielder was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elsie Mary Fielder of the home in Marietta; two brothers, Kenneth W. Fielder of Tulsa and Troy Ray Fielder of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Bill Awalt, Claude Brannan, Clark Tipton, Clarence Wagner, and Bill Lackey.Source: Marietta Monitor, 20 Sept 1991, page 4
