Services for Renea Nix "Spike" Cline, 45, of Marietta were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 23 in Marietta's Eastside Baptist Church with Pastor Brett Alberda officiating. Interment followed in the Lakeview Cemetery.
Born September 26, 1969 at Garland, Texas, the daughter of Manuel and Mary Culbert Nix, she died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at her residence.
A resident of Love County most of her life, Renea graduated from Marietta High School in 1987 and then earned an art degree from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha and a teaching degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. She taught special education in the school systems in Sherman, Texas and Gainesville, Texas. Renea will be remembered as one who loved children. She and Clifford Dewayne Cline were married in Marietta on February 14, 1992. Renea was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta and very active in the church choir and the Awana program.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Randy Nix on February 14, 1997.
Survivors include her husband, Dewayne of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn A. and Tammy Nix of Gloucester, Virginia; grandson, Connor; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were Craig Nix, Justin Nix, Dale Harvey, Charles Lancaster, Mike Buxton and David Dodd. Honorary bearers were Wayne Bond, G.W. Flanagan and Carol Wayne Flanagan.
