Interment followed in the Lakeview Cemetery.
Born April 21, 1921 in Love County, the daughter of M.H. And Lola Moore Shurbet, she died Sunday, December 20, 2009, in Mercy Health Love County. A resident of Love County all of her life, Mrs. Bond was a homemaker. She and Jess Otho Bond were married by Rev. W.P. Rowland in Marietta on September 18, 1937, and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2005. As a very active member of the Eastside Baptist Church, Mrs. Bond taught the Beginners Sunday School Class for many years, sang in the church choir, in addition to cooking at Falls Creek Baptist Assembly for numerous years. She was an excellent seamstress, as well as being a good cook and cake decorator.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Barbara Bond of Marietta and Ron and Georgia Bond of Ardmore; sister-in-law, Nelda Shurbet of Greenville; two grandchildren, Kim Behrens and husband, Ronnie of Madill and Tim Bond and wife, Miaya of Sanger, Texas; three great-grandchildren, J.J. Gray of Denton, Texas and Veronica Clement and husband, Scott and Kyla Selvy and husband, Chad, all of Madill; and three great-great-grandchildren, Ali Selvy, Cole Selvy and Luke Clement.
Pallbearers were J.H. Hayes, Joe Don Jones, Mark Bond, Rick Brannan, Leo Douglas and Don Bennett. Honorary bearers were Dr. Tom O’Connor, Richard Quisenberry, Edward “Hoot” Norris, Jim Patton, Marjorie Hobbs, Carol Wayne Flanagan, Alice Jean Flanagan, Charlcie Hefley, Bob Geurin, Michelle Porter and Butch Sparks.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Girls’ Home at Madill c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 East Main St., Marietta, OK 73448.

Services for Jess Otho Bond, 95, of Marietta, were held Wednesday, July 20, in the Eastside Baptist Church, Marietta, with the Rev. Ronnie Harris officiating.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta. Arrangements were directed by Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
Born September 6, 1909, south of Gainesville, Texas, on Potter's Farm, the son of William Thomas and Evalyn Virginia Hott Bond, he died Sunday July 17, 2005, in Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore. A resident of Love County since the age of five, he moved here with his family from Cooke County, Texas. He and Noble Ruth Shurbet were married April 21, 1921, in Marietta, at the home of Rev. W.P. Rowland. Mr. Bond was a farmer/rancher and a member of the Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Noble Bond of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Barbara Bond of Marietta and Ron and Georgia Bond of Ardmore; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Olen Bond and Gene and Nadine Bond of Loves Valley, Lyn and Betty Bond of Oklahoma City, and Jimbo and Colene Bond of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Ethel Scivally of Thackerville; two grandchildren, Tim and Miaya Bond of Sanger, Texas, and Kim and Ron Behrens of Madill; three great-grandchildren, J.J. Gray, Veronica Behrens and Kyla and Chad Selvy, all of Madill; two great-great-grandchildren, Ali Selvy and Cole Selvy of Madill; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Richard and Berniece Quisenberry of Marietta.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Celia Daughtry and Willie McGill; two brothers, Dean Bond and Short Bond; and his brother, John, who also passed away on July 17.
Pallbearers were Bob Geurin, Jim Patton, J.H. Hayes, Dana Wilson, Rick Brannan and Mark Bond. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Lawson, Chick Hull, Buddy Burton, Thurman Vinson, Claude Brannan, Fayrond Balch, Butch Sparks, Edward (Hoot) Norris, Dr. Tom O'Connor, Carol Wayne Flanagan, Bill Flanagan, and the Senior Men's Sunday School Class of Eastside Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eastside Baptist Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
