Funeral services for Gladys Faye Smith Wright, 78, of Wilson were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 22 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Dustin Wright officiating.

Interment followed in the Jimtown Cemetery of Love County.

Born April 19, 1934 at Jimtown, the daughter of Andrew Jefferson and Renna Laura Caldwell Smith, she died Friday, January 18, 2013 at Mercy Hospital of Ardmore. Gladys was raised in Jimtown attending school at Leon. She married Kenneth Earl Wright in 1950 and they made their home in Leon before moving to the Fresno, California area. They moved back to Oklahoma in 1966 residing at Wilson, where Gladys remained the rest of her life. She was a devoted homemaker who loved growing flowers and plants. She enjoyed working in her yard and was employed periodically at several businesses throughout the community and had driven a school bus for Vo Tech. Gladys was an excellent cook and she enjoyed riding motorcycles. She attended the Assembly of God of Wilson.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Brent Wright in 1969 and Kelly Wright in 2005; and a sister, Wilma Drake.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Young and husband Johnny of Thackerville, Kenny Wright, Doug Wright, Nett Scarberry, and Shawna Wright, all of Wilson, Frankie Wright and wife Brenda of Lone Grove and Richard Wright of Elk City; a daughter-in-law, Anita Wright of Wilson; 11 grandchildren, Tim, Jason, Jeffrey, Dylan, Braden, Davis, Kent, Dawson, Shawn, Dakota and Kelsey; four great-grandchildren, Ashton Wright, Dawson Wright, Kendra Wright and Brooklyn Holland; a sister, Norma Kemmer and husband John and a brother, Jimmy Smith and wife Kathy, all of California; father of her children, Earl Wright of Marietta; and numerous other family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Tim Holland, Jason Wright, Jeffrey Wright, Dylan Wright, Braden Wright and Davis Hayes. Honorary bearers were Kent Wright, Dawson Adkins, Shawn Adkins, Dakota Howard and Kelsey Adkins.

This obituary included a picture of Mrs. Wright.
