Services for Albert Elmo Nettles, Jr., 63, of Burneyville will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 26 in the All Faith Christian Church, Marietta with Brother Jerry Turner officiating.

Interment will follow in the Jimtown Cemetery.

Born April 2, 1957 at Houston, the son of Amelia Christine Perricone and Albert Elmo Nettles, Sr., he died Sunday, February 21, 2021 in Sherman, Texas.

Albert was a longtime area resident. He worked for Walmart for 20 years and then Loves Truck Stop as a regional manager. Most recently, Albert worked as a cashier at the Chickasaw Travel Center. He married Ola Jacobs in May of 2012. Albert was a Cub Scout leader. He enjoyed going to the lake to fish and loved to go crabbing when he was on the coast. Albert had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elizabeth Nettles; sister, Deberah Summers; brother, Domenick Nettles; and grandsons, Everett Mills, Shorty Mason, Dakota Mason and Chester Hiatt.

Survivors include his wife, Ola Nettles; sons, Albert Bearden and wife Erika, Jimmy Bearden, Billy Nettles, Andrew Nettles, Rodger Mason and wife Kathy, and Jimmie Mason and wife Primor; daughters, Lola Mills, Mary Oberkrom, and Kandy Porter; brother, Ronnie Nettles; sister, Rachel Nettles and husband David Harris; the father of Rachel’s children, Gaylon Fergason, Sr. and their children, John Fergason and Gaylon Fergason, Jr.; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chamberlyn Mills, Jeremy Mason, Cameron Coleman, Kenneth Mason, and Jimmie Mason. Honorary bearers are Albert Bearden, Billy Joe Nettles, Andrew Nettles, and Oscar Nettles.
