Memorial services for Roscoe Aron Hicks, 82, of Marlow, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 12 at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Wilson with Brother Roy Vinson officiating.

Private family inurement followed at the Jimtown Cemetery.
 
Roscoe was born July 7, 1941, in Burneyville to the late Mr. George McDonald Hicks and Mrs. Dorthea Marie (Harris) Hicks. He departed this life Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at his home in Marlow.   Roscoe was raised in Jimtown where he attended school through the eighth grade. He continued his high school education at Turner and was among the first graduating class of Turner High School in 1959. Roscoe was always a farmer and rancher, working on family land and his own. He married the love of his life, the former Miss Brenda Mae Willis, on November 2, 1962, in Dallas. The couple made their home in Jimtown where they soon became parents to a son, Willard Aron in 1963 and a daughter, Stephanie Dawn in 1967.
 
Roscoe began his employment for Uniroyal/Michelin in 1970 and after 30 years of dedication, he retired. He and Brenda sold their home and moved to Marlow to be closer to their grandbaby, Alisha. Roscoe liked to fish and do things outdoors but was mostly known for being a very hard worker who put a lot of pride in everything he did.
 
Preceding him in death were his parents, George and Dorthea Hicks; grandson, Justin Rae Hicks; brothers, George Hicks, Jr. and James Hicks; brothers-in-law, G.C. Willis and J.C. Harris; and nephew Donald Iran Bucher.
 
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Hicks of the home; his son, Willard Aron Hicks and wife Dot; his daughter, Stephanie Dawn Lemons and husband Brent; siblings, Daroleen Bucher and husband Paul and Billy Royce Hicks and wife Zolian; grandchildren, Colt Shinn and wife Brittney, Sarah Jane Bumpass and husband Jason, Alisha Mae Erin Lemons, and Jessica Dawn Hicks; sisters-in-law, Claudia Harris, Barbara Blakley and husband James, Ellie Mae Hicks, Media June Hicks, and Becky Willis; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends.
