Interment with Navy honors followed in the Jimtown Cemetery.
Born October 19, 1930 at Jimtown, the son of Louis L. and Cecilia M. Willis Hall, he died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at his residence. Johnny married Frances Loving on March 31, 1951. God blessed them with three wonderful children, Cecilia, Johnny Jr., and Jacky. After graduating from Burneyville High School in 1948, Johnny attended Southeastern College, Durant. He then worked in the oil fields for a short time before joining the Navy. While serving four years on the USS Bon Homme Richard, he was trained in plumbing. For his service in the Navy he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal (5), United Nations Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. After retiring from service, he and his family made their home in Grand Prairie, Texas where Johnny was employed by B.C. Plumbing Company for 21 years and really enjoyed his work. Johnny lost his spouse at an early age as did Lawanna McBride. The two realized they had a lot in common and were married in 1974. Johnny started his own business, H&R Plumbing, and in 1992 the couple decided to move back to Oklahoma where they were born. After both Johnny and Lawanna retired, they built their home at Jimtown and became very active in the community, including, among other things, Johnny serving on the board of the Jimtown Volunteer Fire Department. Johnny was a member of Marietta’s First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Frances Loving Hall; daughter, Cecilia Hall Cross; son, Kenny McBride; and brother, Jimmy Lou Hall.
Survivors include his loving, devoted wife of 44 years, Lawanna; four sons, John Hall Jr. of Ardmore, Jacky Hall and wife Leeann of Waxahachie, Texas, Gary McBride and wife Deanna of Edmond, and Scott McBride and wife Jerilynn of Ardmore; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and special nephew, Luke Hall and his wife Paula of Jimtown.
Serving as pallbearers were Chris Hall, Ty Hall, Ryan Phelps, Nathan Hall, Brandon McBride, and Josh McBride. Honorary bearers were Nathan McBride and Benjamin McBride.
